1. Core Philosophy: Dual Processing Architecture
DocInspector offers two distinct methods for processing your documents, both built on absolute data privacy and transparency:
A. Desktop Application (100% Local): The full workstation suite runs completely offline. All document analysis, OCR, conversions, and metadata audits occur locally inside your workstation. Zero files and zero metadata are ever transmitted over the internet.
B. Browser Online Tools (Stateless Server-Side): For instant web access, we offer secure browser-based tools. Uploaded files are sent encrypted via HTTPS and processed on our secure sandboxed server, leaving no persistent footprint.
2. Secure Web Processing & Zero Retention
For documents processed using the browser tools, we enforce a strict Zero-Retention Policy:
• All document uploads and downloads are encrypted in transit using secure HTTPS (TLS 1.3).
• Files are stored temporarily in volatile sandboxed server memory or isolated temporary directories solely for the duration of the requested repair or sanitization sequence.
• Processed documents are automatically and permanently deleted from our servers within 5 minutes of processing, or immediately upon manual download. We do not keep, inspect, log, or sell any document contents.
3. No AI Training & Deterministic Parsing
We do not employ Large Language Models (LLMs) or generative AI modules that ingest your private documents. Both our offline desktop application and online browser engines use deterministic, traditional code-based parsing libraries (e.g., ExifTool, qpdf, Ghostscript). Your files are never utilized for AI model training or machine learning.
4. GDPR Native Compliance
By architectural design, DocInspector helps your organization maintain absolute compliance with European GDPR standards:
• Desktop App: Keeps the data owner completely in control as a native Data Controller, as no third party ever handles the files.
• Online Tools: Our stateless processing acts as a transient, secure conduit, ensuring no personal data is saved, indexed, or stored past the instant processing transaction.
5. Telemetry & Server Logs
We collect generic web usage metrics (such as the number of page visits and total daily files processed to enforce limits) to keep our servers running efficiently. However, we do not log or store individual filenames, user hashes, IP addresses connected to files, or text content. For the Desktop App, all processing logs are saved strictly in your local workstation directory.
