When you audit hundreds of documents across dozens of folders, you need structured output — not just a pass/fail result. DocInspector generates comprehensive Excel reports that map your entire folder tree with detailed metadata for each file.

What's in the report?

Each row represents a file, with columns for: file path, type, size, creation date, modification date, author, page count (for PDFs), security flags, metadata summary, and risk indicators. Conditional formatting highlights files that need attention.

How to generate

  1. Load your folder tree into DocInspector's Reporting module
  2. Select which metadata fields to include
  3. Click Generate — the Excel file is created with formatted sheets, filters, and summary statistics

Use cases

  • Compliance audits — prove you've reviewed every document in a dataset
  • Legal discovery — create a manifest of all evidence documents
  • Data cleanup — identify duplicate, oversized, or problematic files
  • Handover documentation — document exactly what files are being transferred
